Kos

As with the majority of the Greek Isles, Kos offers something for both families as well as groups of friends alike. Whether that might be a holiday that feels like a non-stop party, a spell of total rest and relaxation….or if you like to do both, perhaps a mixture of the two!

Although it’s under Greek administration, the beautiful isle of Kos is located just off the western coast of Turkey in the fabulous Aegean. This beautiful verdant island is ripe with olive groves and vineyards and is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. As well as the island’s exquisite natural beauty and the plethora of man-made attractions, the town of Kos makes package holidays as popular as ever.

History is plentiful on Hippocrates Island. Ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian sites are scattered all over the island of the noted philosopher’s birth. With an amazingly fascinating historical legacy there is much to see but for nightlife lovers, the main attraction is the town of Kos. Pubs, tavernas and waterside bars are plentiful and the atmosphere will suite everyone. Enjoy local Greek specialities such as moussaka and souvlaki and wash it down with the local Ouzo for that truly authentic feel. Or if you prefer to stick with your usual choice of food there are familiar favourites such as pasta, pizza and of course your typical English pub grub!

Just a short while away from Kos Town, Paradise Beach is most certainly one of the premier attractions of Kos holidays. On the south west of the island this sandy haven is around 20 miles from Kos Town and just outside the village of Kefalos. This magnificent sandy white beach is popular with water sports enthusiasts and sun lovers alike and there are a good few handy and tempting tavernas just off the beach to help make for a more enjoyable visit.

Most of the accommodation in Kos is cheerful family run hotels or self-catering studio apartments. Most cheap holidays to Kos normally involve a stay in such accommodation to ensure that your holiday is pocket friendly. However, there is also an impressive collection of three and four star hotels on the island which are of the highest quality. Occasionally they will even appear in the holiday bargain lists. So it’s worth keeping a close eye on the deals to bag a bargain and you could soon be on a flight to your dream holiday to Kos!
